The Helen Keller Southern Magnolia grows at her home, Ivy Green in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Helen Keller grew up to become one of history's remarkable women. She dedicated her life to improving the conditions of blind and the deaf-blind around the world, lecturing in more than 25 countries.

Helen Keller loved exploring the grounds of Ivy Green and often spoke and wrote of her favorite trees. One of Helen Keller’s favorite trees was a Water Oak, currently over 200 years old, which she often spoke and wrote. It is a deciduous tree, growing to 100 ft. tall with a trunk up to 3 ft. in diameter.

Warm Springs – Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Little White House

In 1932, after winning the presidency for the first time, Franklin D. Roosevelt ordered a six-room Georgia pine house to be built on his property in Warm Springs, GA. This house was his retreat throughout his presidency and became known as the Little White House. During FDR’s presidency and the Great Depression, he developed many New Deal Programs based upon his experiences in this small town. Our FDR Loblolly Pine grew from a tree that stands on the property of the Little White House in Warm Springs.

Robert Frost - The Frost Place

Robert Frost is one of the most popular and critically respected American poets of the twentieth century. “Birches” is one of Frost’s many famous poems, included in his third collection of poetry Mountain Interval that was published in 1916, only one year after he moved to Franconia, NH. “Birches” describes the surroundings of rural landscape and wildlife found in Franconia.
